Design Tools

For our customers, releasing a new product onto the market can be a large risk. Reference designs are a costly investment in resources and the market window may be short in which to generate enough sales to cover the high initial costs. It such cases, time-to-market is a critical factor in the return on investment calculation. To support our customers, RECOM offers a range of evaluation boards and reference designs, allowing engineers to quickly evaluate and check that our converter products will fulfil the needs of their applications.

The evaluation boards come with pre-soldered converters on PCBs with break-out connectors for power, control, sense or trim pins. Also included are filter components to meet Class B EMC levels. The customer can solder alternate filter components onto spare pads to optimize the EMI performance in their application. Output voltage setting resistors are also included so that multiple voltage rail power supplies can be quickly realized.

Our reference designs are complete sub-assemblies to allow customers to try out different components and converters to optimise the performance of their design. We include full BoM and Gerber file information with the reference design tools, allowing engineers to accelerate their design process by cut-and-pasting known working solutions into their final application.
