AC/DC DIN Rail Power Supplies and Accessories

The RACPRO1 series of industrial DIN rail AC/DC power supplies is compact, efficient, and includes single-phase input versions rated up to 480W and three-phase versions rated up to 960W. Additionally, the REDIIN series offers single-phase universal AC inputs and outputs rated up to 480W for cost-sensitive applications, without compromising performance in demanding industrial environments. The new REFIN series is super-slim and offered in the ‘step-shape’ format with up to 90W continuous rating. To complement these products, four-channel resettable e-Fuses are available in the DIN rail format rated up to 10A, as well as soon-to-be-announced redundancy diode modules.

Features & Performance

With versions rated at 120W, 240W and 480W, the RACPRO1-S universal single-phase DIN rail AC/DC power supplies are just 28mm, 39mm and 52mm wide respectively.

Adjustable output voltages are available at 12V, 24V and 48V for the 120W and 240W versions, and 24V and 48V for the 480W version. All parts support 150% power for 5s to handle surge loads and feature high return voltage immunity. Full power can be delivered up to +60°C for all parts under convection-only cooling, while higher temperatures can be withstood with derating.

Reliability and lifetime figures are high, supported by impressive efficiency of up to 95%.

Installation & Usability

The push-in terminals feature a unique ergonomic design and a 25° angle for easy, tool-free operation. These maintenance-free terminals, along with the thoughtfully designed DIN rail mounting clips, allow for quick installation and removal also without the need for tools.

Durability & Environmental Suitability

With surge immunity up to 4kV at the input and reverse voltage protection over 35V at the output, these devices are suited for demanding environments. Their extended temperature range of -40°C to +70°C makes them ideal for harsh industrial settings and outdoor applications, especially in renewable energy.

RECOM's RACPRO1-T240, -T480, and -T960 power supplies

Features & Performance

The RACPRO1-T240, -T480, and -T960 series feature a universal AC and DC input voltage range from 3x320V to 3x575V AC & 430V to 850VDC, available in power classes of 240W, 480W, and 960W.

The RACPRO1-T power supplies achieve up to 97.1% efficiency, allowing for high power density in a compact design. They are available in widths of 43mm, 52mm, and 80mm. With low power losses, they offer a service life exceeding 80,000 hours.

Load indicators on the T480 and T960 allow quick identification of the appropriate unit for each application. Both units support selectable constant current (CC) mode for battery-charging tasks and a load sharing mode for parallel operation.

In parallel mode, two or three T480s or T960s can be connected to double or triple their current delivery capability, respectively. With no-load power consumption ranging from 1W for the T240 to 3W for the T480 and T960, these power supplies minimize energy waste and improve efficiency during standby and no-load conditions.

Thermal Management: Chimney Effect

The chimney effect occurs when a vertical column of warm air rises, creating a natural draught that significantly reduces the internal temperature of hot components.

The design of the RECOM RACPRO1-T DIN rail mount power supplies incorporates two separate through flue-channels to fully leverage the chimney effect, enabling 100% power operation at up to 60°C ambient temperature.

The RACPRO1-4SP series are 4-channel electronic fuse (e-Fuse) load switches designed to provide independent overcurrent protection for each channel. They feature real-time current monitoring and LED status indicators to simplify diagnostics. Each channel operates independently, ensuring system reliability even when faults occur. The design includes sequential power-up to limit inrush current and reverse-sequence shutdown to prioritize essential loads. Adjustable overload modes allow flexible system configuration.

These e-Fuses support 5A or 10A per channel, with a 150% power boost for up to 5s to handle temporary load surges. For short-duration overcurrent events, the device can sustain more than 150% overload for up to 120ms, reducing unnecessary tripping.

Built to LPS installation standards, they offer high reliability with a >80,000h lifetime expectancy at 40°C. Installation is streamlined with tool-free push-in terminals and paired input/output connectors, making wiring and daisy-chaining across multiple modules quick and efficient.

The RACPRO1-RD40 comprises a pair of MOSFETs configured as high-efficiency gating diodes, allowing RECOM DIN rail AC/DCs to be connected in n+1 redundancy arrangements for critical applications where power must be maintained even if one AC/DC goes offline. The module accepts DC inputs up to 56V and can supply an output of up to 40A (60A/5s) over an ambient temperature range of -40°C to +70°C with convection cooling. Maximum voltage drop is 140mV, and the part is certified to IEC/EN/UL/CSA 62368-1 for safety. EN 61000-6-4 Class B emissions and EN 61000-6-2 immunity EMC standards are met. High reliability and long lifetime of over 268,000h at 40°C make the redundancy module suitable for harsh industrial environments.

The module is just 43mm wide, features tool-less mounting, and uses push-in electrical connections angled at 25° for easy system integration.

The new ultra-slim REFIN range of flat-panel DIN rail AC/DC power supplies offers the highest power density of its type on the market and is designed in the industry-standard ‘step-shape’ format. Models are rated at 18W in 1U width, 30W and 60W in 2U width, and a 2U 90W version that provides 150% boost power for 4.5s and can be paralleled for 160W in 4U width. All versions feature universal single-phase AC or high-voltage DC inputs.

Efficiency reaches up to 93.6% , and the series is certified to comprehensive safety and EMC standards. Inputs meet over-voltage category III, supporting operation up to 3000m altitude (90W version: OVCII up to 5000m). Available output voltages range from 5V to 48VDC, rated as LPS/NEC Class 2-limited.

Mounting is tool-free, with optional integrated wings for direct flat-panel installation. Electrical connections are push-in for quick and secure wiring.

They offer single outputs of 24V and 48VDC, with the 120W variant also available in 12VDC, all adjustable from the module’s front panel.
