Our cost-effective RMOD range has just been extended with two new products – the RMOD300-UW and RMOD360-UW. Both DC/DC converters are in a 190 x 76 x 44mm baseplate cooled package with MOLEX(TM) connectors and feature ultra-wide 18 to 106VDC input (126VDC/10mins) to cover batteries from 24Vnom up to 90Vnom. The 300W-rated RMOD300-UW is available with 12.2, 13.7, or 24.5VDC fully regulated single outputs, while the 360W-rated RMD360-UW has a single 24.5VDC output.
Both product ranges feature a polycarbonate housing and aluminum baseplate with IP67 sealing for the electronic components and IP20 rating for the product as a whole, in pollution degree 2 (PD2) environments up to 5000m altitude, allowing mounting on any part of a vehicle chassis. Some models are available with alternative connectors for IP67 overall product rating.
Isolation is 2250VDC input to output ‘basic’ grade and 550VDC output to baseplate according to IEC/EN/UL/CSA 62368-1. EMC standards in the IEC 61000 series are met, as specified in EN 12895 – EMC for industrial trucks and parts are qualified for shock and vibration according to IEC 60068-2. MTBF achieved is up to 740kHrs.
The new RMOD products include comprehensive protection – input reverse polarity and under-voltage lockout, over-temperature, output over-voltage, over-current and short circuit. As additional features, an ON/OFF control is provided and products with the same output voltage may be paralleled for increased power. These compact DC/DCs with efficiency ratings of around 90% are able to run from -40°C to +75°C ambient with specified derating.
Typical applications are to provide stable 12V or 24V network voltages in transport and E-mobility vehicles, forklift trucks, AGVs and construction vehicles from the widely varying or higher voltage traction battery and where the environment can be harsh.
