RECOM – WE POWER YOUR PRODUCTS

In order to concentrate its efforts even more effectively on improving power supplies, RECOM built its 3000m² campus-style headquarters in Gmunden, Austria. Apart from extending the existing R&D, testing, and quality laboratories, RECOM has set up a state-of-the-art EMC lab.

Equipped by Rohde & Schwarz, this new lab features a 3m semi-anechoic chamber conforming to the CISPR-16 standard. It enables the company to perform pre-compliant measurements within the frequency range of 30MHz to 3GHz. The semi-anechoic chamber caters for the automated measurement of specimen with a diameter of up to 1.5m. Last but not least, an in-house GTEM cell enables specialist engineers to determine the radiated immunity of test specimens. Compliance with the EMC directive has, in many cases, come to be a critical factor in certifying new electronics products.

RECOM focuses on this important issue in a series of seminars focused on real-life applications for electronics design engineers. Entitled “Power Supply Meets EMC Know-how”, the seminars are rich on information on EMC-compliant design — from component positioning and cable routing to specific guidelines and measurement engineering — including real-life solutions to problems. The success of the event was emphasized by the reactions of the participants:

“RECOM supports me with the equipment and know-how, helping to solve EMC-related problems of all kinds.”

“I especially appreciate the openness and the ECO-building itself. It’s a good way of describing what we do within the power industry.”

“I definitely enjoyed the last days here at RECOM Power. I heard some helpful hints concerning EMC topics, and I can recommend this seminar.”

Customers and partner companies have access to our sophisticated laboratories to test their latest prototypes. RECOM supports customers with equipment and know-how, helping to solve EMC-related problems of all kinds. Due to our close cooperation with research organizations, universities, and companies in the power supply sector, RECOM is kept up to date with the latest developments in technology.
